This free, interactive classroom presentation for high school students, 45 minutes to one hour long, provides a survey of forest jobs and careers. It highlights the breadth and diversity of employment in Oregon’s forest sector. The idea is for high school students to understand the need for and availability of high-paying, high-demand jobs that exist right in their local communities. This is a program of Forests Today & Forever, a Eugene-based nonprofit that provides forestry education programs to youth and adults. The program is offered in a virtual-learning format to all Oregon high schools; the in-person program area includes Lane, Douglas and Benton counties, as well as communities north of Lane County along the 1-5 corridor up to and including Salem, plus coastal communities from Newport to Reedsport.
