Tualatin Riverkeepers

Tualatin Riverkeepers’ Nature Awareness program is designed to help students in the Tualatin River Watershed learn techniques to understand and enjoy the nature in their neighborhood. Field trips take place at Dirksen Park, a 48-acre urban nature park that hosts a variety of habitats, including riparian forests, wetlands, oOak savanna ,and a diversity of native plant and animal species. On the three-hour field trip, volunteer naturalists teach students about forest ecology during small-group activities designed to meet Next Generation Science Standards and the Oregon Environmental Literacy Plan.
